When a transfer takes place, a block is added to the chain chronologically. Each block contains sets of data relating to the transaction, and also relates to the previous block with a cryptographically generated signature. It’s this signature that locks (or chains) all the blocks together, so that a block can never be modified once it’s created.
There are many other lists and indexes where you can add your shop. I find the two mentioned ones to work best so far. If you have one that you think is really good and complete, contact me. I will be happy to add other links here.
Although Coinbase and CEX.IO mentioned above provide a wallet for you to use, Changelly and Coinmama does not. But if you need a wallet or simply wanted to store your own Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies, check out the wallet section to see your best options. If you do decide to use the wallets provided by the exchanges, make absolutely sure you enable Multi-Factor Authentication to fully lock down account access.
Just for kicks, click here to see an example transaction I sent to a friend’s wallet. Again, don’t worry about understanding it, but we’ll come back to Blockchain technology later if you’re interested.
Bitcoin can be transferred from one country to another without limitation. However, the exchange rate against other currencies can be very volatile. This is partly because the price is often driven by speculation, but also because it is a fairly small market compared with other currencies.
You can, if you wish, exchange your bitcoin for other cryptoassets rather than for cash. Some exchanges such as ShapeShift focus on this service, allowing you to swap between bitcoin and ether, litecoin, XRP, dash and several others.
Bitcoin functions as the “reserve” currency of cryptocurrency. So it is very hard to buy other coins without first buying bitcoins. Once you purchase the bitcoins you can convert the bitcoins into other cryptocoins. This is mostly because Bitcoin has very good liquidity and is traded on every cryptocurrency exchange. So most coins are traded against Bitcoin rather than the US dollar or other fiat currencies.
Or, you can sell directly to friends and family once they have a bitcoin wallet set up. Just send the bitcoin, collect the cash or mobile payment, and have a celebratory drink together. (Note: it is generally not a good idea to meet up with strangers to exchange bitcoin for cash in person. Be safe.)

Hey Anne, Well, you can go look at the blockchain right now using any blockexplorer: https://blockchain.info/block/0000000000000000001416bc09d94b22d00ace967832c7fa9dd67df60d0d1612 Above is a block mined at the time of my reply. You can see all the transactions in there… but as you can see, there’s no link between the addresses which coins flow between and any personal identity. While such links can be established – if you publish your Bitcoin address on your public blog and request donations then of course everyone will know its your address – Bitcoin is by default PSEUDOnymous rather than anonymous. Another way to buy Bitcoins anonymously with cash is to go to your nearest Bitcoin ATM and buy Bitcoins from the ATM using cash. Buying Bitcoins via an ATM is probably the best way to go about buying Bitcoins anonymously however not everyone has an ATM next to them. When asked to enter your Bitcoin address at the ATM just specify that you don’t have one – in most cases this will just generate a new paper address for you and you’re good to go. Later on you can import the private key from that paper wallet and send those Bitcoins wherever you like.
Withdrawal requests are processed automatically, right after their placement. Another great thing is that you do not need to log in to third party services. In most cases, withdrawals are processed instantly. This feature will enable you to gain convenient access to withdrawn funds on your MasterCard/VISA right away.
